AboutBoard-Certified General Surgeon Ronald Cheney, DO, graduated from Des Moines University’s School of Osteopathic Medicine where he was named Outstanding Surgical Student of 1996. He is a member of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons and the American Osteopathic Medical Association. He is also highly involved with the Pan-African Academy of Christian Surgeons, which provides education, resources, and hand-on experience for surgical students in Malawi, Africa. Dr. Cheney spends a couple of months each year teaching these students abroad. With his wife, Karla, Dr. Cheney has three children who enjoy playing sports, traveling, and spending time together.
