Getting vaccinated against the flu can significantly reduce the risk of contracting the virus and experiencing severe symptoms. It is especially important for high-risk groups, including adults aged 65 and older, children aged 6 months to 5 years, pregnant women, and people with chronic health conditions such as heart disease, lung disease, diabetes, or weakened immune systems.

By getting vaccinated, you can help protect yourself and your loved ones from the flu and reduce the overall burden of the disease on the community. For more information, please contact Amy Schumacher, RN, SMCH Director of Clinic Nursing, at (712) 464-7907.
