Cardiology & Cardiac Rehab

Our partners offer exeptional care, close to home for our patients.

Iowa Heart Center

Stewart Memorial Community Hospital brings cardiac care to area residents through a valuable partnership with the Iowa Heart Center. The Iowa Heart Clinic is located in the Outpatient Specialty Center at McCrary-Rost Clinic Lake City.

Iowa Heart Center offers clinical cardiology services to help patients with the diagnosis and management of cardiovascular disease, including consultations, cardiac and vascular testing, and follow-up visits to assess your progress.

Trinity Cardiolovascular Lab

The Trinity Cardiolovascular lab is accredited by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC). The IAC programs for accreditation are dedicated to ensuring quality patient care and promoting health care and all support one common mission: improving health care through accreditation. The lab is staffed by American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) registered sonographers. They travel from Fort Dodge and do exams at Stewart Memorial Community Hospital every Wednesday. This provides service close to home and quality imaging without having to travel to a larger facility.

The exams offered by Trinity Cardiolovascular Lab at Lake City are:

  • Echocardiology -- An imaging test that uses ultrasound to monitor the heart function
  • ABI -- An ankle-brachial index (ABI) test is a simple way for your doctor to check how well your blood is flowing.
  • Segs and Waves -- People who have leg pain when exercising may need an evaluation to make sure they have normal blood flow through their leg arteries.
  • Arterial ultrasounds -- An arterial duplex ultrasound uses sound waves to create a color map of the arteries in your arms or legs. A venous ultrasound of the upper or lower extremities provides pictures of the veins and the blood flow within the veins of the arms or legs.
